It could be health care, aging in place, safe streets or a myriad of other related issues but seniors have both the right and the obligation to make themselves heard. Towards that end, the Century House Time for Change group is presenting an ongoing series of speakers and workshops focused on how to advocate for change on those issues that impact our daily lives.

Seniors Have Voices #2

The second in the series will feature Gloria Levi, well known gerontologist, social worker, writer, and community activist, who will speak to her vision as to what makes a successful advocate.

Gloria was instrumental in turning the Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver from a five-person group into a powerfully connected organization of 150 volunteers. Her book Dealing with Memory Changes As You Grow Older has been translated into five different languages. And at the age of 91 Gloria published her first work of fiction, The Hotelkeeper’s Daughter.

Gloria’s talk will be followed by your opportunity to make your voices heard at “buzz table” sessions. So join us for what should be both an inspiring and informative afternoon. Everyone is welcome!

Tuesday, November 14th at Century House, 2:30—4:30 p.m. Doors open at 2.

This  is a free event but please register in advance at the Century House front desk or call 604 519-1066.
Parking is limited.
