A biographical comedy-drama inspired by the true story of a 1962 tour of the Deep South American states by African American pianist Don Shirley and his driver and bodyguard Italian American bouncer and later actor Frank “Tony Lip” Vallelonga. They begin their journey armed with “The Negro Motorist Green Book”, a guide for safe travel through America’s racial segregation. The book was written in 1936 and published until 1966.
