What We Do: Teach you how to Square Dance and Round Dance with lessons accommodating all skill levels.
Important to Know: Discover the healthy benefits of Square and Round dancing. If you have never square danced before, come to Century House on a Saturday and we will have you dancing some basic steps in a few minutes. You will enjoy the “low impact” exercise, mental stimulation and friendly group camaraderie.
New members will be warmly welcomed and there are lots of ‘angels’ available to teach you the steps and patterns of the dances. The time is divided into various sessions for different levels of experience and between square and round dancing. The first tranche of time (from 11:30 a.m.) is dedicated to basic instruction, practice and review. While more experienced dancers enjoy more complex calls in the last hour, they also help out beginners from 11:30. Professional callers are used.
Don’t hesitate because you don’t have a partner. Partners are not essential and you’ll be very welcome. Regular clothing is quite acceptable although some of the members do wear the distinctive men’s and women’s costumes.

The group recently recognized two members with ‘Four Score And More” badges recognizing their continued activity at age 80+. Here are Grace Choi and Ron Parke—who still love to square dance—with group Chair Dianne Lewis.
