The Century House Association Events Planning Committee formed a working group of Century House members from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea & Vietnam.
They have organized two events to mark Lunar New Year at Century House.
Wednesday 18 January 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Light dinner & Asian Entertainment (music/dance)
This event includes a sampling of the cuisine of all three countries (two items per country). The Asian members of the committee selected the venues providing the food. There will also be entertainment reflecting Asian cultures.
Cost: Members $15 / Non-members $18
Registration deadline: Wed. Jan. 11 (no refunds for cancellations after Monday noon)
Friday 20 January 10 a.m.–noon
Heritage Dumpling Making
Committee members will demonstrate how to make dumplings that are enjoyed in their countries – Vietnam, Korea and China. You will watch the presentation via Zoom, either from the Oak Room (the only way to get a sampling of the dumplings) or from your home.
Cost:
- CH in-house participants $5, includes dumpling samples); pre-registration via the front desk (604-519-1066) required by noon, Wed. Jan. 11. Limited seating available.
- Home viewers can watch for free – please register in advance via this link. After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the session.
