Update April 10

Singers need help

The Century House Singers need someone. Is it you? The group needs a leader and pianist so they can get back into action. Again, if it’s not you, perhaps you know someone. If so, please reply to this note and we’ll forward your information.

So do the Moody Blues

The Moody Blues senior mixed slowpitch team—a Century House Association activity—needs some players.  Women who are least 55 (or will be in 2022) will be welcome. It’s not for beginners, but you don’t have to be a star. Not for you? Maybe you know someone who’d be interested.  Please reply to this note if interested and we’ll forward your information.

Events news

Have you signed up yet for Comedy Cabaret on Thursday, April 21 or the April birthday party on Thursday,  April 29?  If you want to, see page 9 of the April Clarion.

Starting in May, events night will be Wednesdays, including the monthly birthday parties.

More Internet for low-income seniors

The federal Connecting Families initiative has now expanded  to include seniors receiving the maximum Guaranteed Income Supplement. If you’re eligible, you should get a letter from the government, offering a deal at $20/month for 200 gigabytes of data usage per month, at speeds of 50 megabits per second download. That could be enough for people getting started on the Internet, and it’s certainly  step forward for seniors. Read more in this Vancouver Province article.
