Canada Day 2017

Please join us for a day of fabulous fun and celebrations for the entire family in beautiful Queen’s Park. This year, the City of New Westminster is planning an extra special event which will spill out into Queens Park to celebrate this important milestone in our history. The overall programming will connect local community with the celebrations taking place across the country to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary. Some of the planned activities include arts and heritage workshops, community groups presentations and diverse performances that celebrate the story of Canada.

Date: Saturday, July 1, 2017
Time: 11:30 am to 3:30 pm
The City of New Westminster and the Arts Commission.
The event is between 11:30 and 3:30, and volunteer shifts should be 10am-1pm and 12:30pm-3:30pm, approximately 15 volunteers for the following roles:

Art Activity Assistants – 3 (all day)
Time: 10:00AM – 3:30PM
— Assist with crafts and activities

Setup  2 ( ½ day each)
Time: 10:00AM – 11:30AM
— Table, chair and tent set up
— Setting up signage
— Decorating
— Other duties as assigned

Clean Up
Time: 2:00 – 4:00PM
— Tear down of tables, chairs, tents
— Pick up signage
— Take down décor
— Other duties as assigned

Entertainment Support – 4 ( ½ day each, 1 per stage)
Time: 10am-1pm and 12:30pm-3:30pm.

Greeters/Check-in Table – 2 ( ½ day each)
Time: 10am-1pm and 12:30pm-3:30pm.

Silent Auction – 2 ( ½ day each)
Time: 10am-1pm and 12:30pm-3:30pm.

Floaters – minimum 2 ( ½ day each)
Time: 10am-1pm and 12:30pm-3:30pm.
